Yamil Guzmán Rosado (b. 1995) is a Mexican painter and printmaker from Ciudad Ixtepec, Oaxaca. Galería Vórtice in Mexico City writes that he began as an assistant to local artists, then studied graphic design in Mexico City and came to printmaking through the Academia de San Carlos.
Vórtice names gold leaf, oil, ceramics, watercolor and sand as his main materials, and traces his work to the nature and traditions of Oaxaca, particularly the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, the region that shaped his surroundings from childhood. In the gallery's account his subjects range from everyday scenes to introspective moments, reached through epiphanies that arise amid the popular festivals, symbols, legends, mysticism and spiritual traditions of the Isthmus. His 2025 canvases include Códice de primavera and Corrientes telepáticas, both in gold leaf and oil. Of Cargando nuestra culpa (2024), a five-color reduction woodcut, he wrote that it filled him with love to interpret "parte de lo vivido en el Istmo de Tehuantepec" (part of what he lived through on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec).
Vórtice's biography records that he co-founded an art workshop at CBTIS 91 in Ixtepec and in 2014 taught a mural workshop at the Albergue Hermanos en el Camino there. It also lists Istmo de Tehuantepec: Tratos, Relatos y Retratos, a 2019 group exhibition at the Embassy of Mexico in Madrid, and solo shows at ENTE Galería in Mexico City in 2018 and, under the title Baraje visual, at La Mercantil in Coyoacán in 2022.
In April 2026 he was among the artists from Mexico City and Oaxaca in Cartografías del imaginario, which opened on April 10 at the Galería de Arte Shinzaburo Takeda of the Facultad de Bellas Artes (UABJO) in Oaxaca de Juárez. On May 2, 2026, Galería Vórtice opened La raíz de la conciencia, a solo exhibition of his work, at its space in Roma Norte. He was also among the artists in México Mágico, the gallery's group exhibition for September 2026, which it announced would open on August 29.
