Explosión de Color
Maria Catalina Muñoz Gomez (1996–)
Acrilico sobre lienzo · 160 × 108 cm
María Catalina Muñoz Gómez, a Colombian painter whose portfolio calls her an "Artista Plástica y Gestora Social" (visual artist and social organizer), wrote on Instagram in September 2026 that "pintar siempre ha sido una forma de contar historias sin palabras" (painting has always been a way of telling stories without words).
The Fundación Catalina Muñoz (Catalina Muñoz Foundation), which her parents founded in her name in 2004, has built more than 5,000 houses for families in extreme poverty, and what her works earn goes to it: "cada una de mis obras es un puente hacia la acción solidaria" (each of my works is a bridge to acts of solidarity). After ARTBO, the art fair in Bogotá where this painting hung in September 2026, she gave what her sales there raised to the foundation, to build houses for families affected by an earthquake in the Pereira area.
