In an Instagram post of February 12, 2023 about its stand at Zona Maco 2023, an art fair in Mexico City, SGR Galería, a gallery in Bogotá, wrote of Héctor Madera's paintings under the heading "Último día en Zona Maco" (Last day at Zona Maco): "These paintings function like notebooks on Latin American street culture and nightlife, using pop culture elements as a resource for creating the compositions and the storytelling…" The post names "embarrassing situations, unlucky circumstances, and insignificant accomplishments" as the inspiration for his artistic practice.

SGR Galería's photographs of its stand there show this painting hanging beside Pura vida (Pure Life).
