Andrés Anza has explained why he leaves his sculptures untitled. In an interview by Marcos Palomeque, published on July 14, 2020 by farolito, a site on the visual arts and design that named him its artist of the month, he said that although his pieces have organic forms they are also abstract, and viewers feel the need to name them: "Por eso no tienen título, porque no quiero sugerirles lo que es" (That is why they have no title, because I don't want to suggest to them what it is).

He wants the viewer to be able to identify a piece "sin necesidad de que les digan lo que es" (without needing to be told what it is), and said that people ask him whether one is a cactus or a sea urchin. What everyone agrees on, he said, is "algo orgánico, algo vivo" (something organic, something alive), and that is what he wants: that his pieces be seen as a living organism "pero que no puedas nombrar" (but one you cannot name).
